At SN@P, we support the UK-wide Non-Medical Prescribing community through the provision of clinical numeracy assessment and education content mapped against the RPS competency framework and created with a focus on Level 6 and Level 7 complexities.

Learner View

Snap has allowed us to save time on producing assessments on clinical numeracy, while still allowing the flexibility to add as many custom questions as we need. As such, our provision of medicines management assessment has become more comprehensive, with more formative assessment provided, and ultimately improved clinical competency for our students. The system is easy to navigate for admin users, and the support provided is very impressive. The team are always open to suggestions to change functionality or better suit our institution's needs. They are all very approachable and responsive to long-term planning.

Originally commissioned by NHS Health Education England, our dual-operating platform pairs robust diagnostic testing with targeted learning resources. Hosted by the Health & Education Co-operative - a partnership governed by five leading universities in the North West of England - SN@P works directly with UK higher education institutions, NHS Trusts, and healthcare providers. We ensure that nursing and midwifery undergraduates, postgraduates, and healthcare professionals build the numerical confidence and precision required for safe medicines management and everyday clinical practice.

Jo's early career was in regeneration and involved working with and supporting new business growth and development. Over 16 years ago Jo took on her first role in a university, setting up collaborative partnership projects to achieve strategic growth for local businesses.
Jo has managed the Health and Education Co-operative for over 6 years, supporting its transition from a 100% grant funded organisation, to being fully commercial and self-sustaining through the introduction of licences.

UK-wide Business Development & Strategic Manager

Kieran worked as the project manager for the Health Education England commissioned project, Standardised Numeracy Assessment Process before meeting an emerging gap in the digital market for the delivery of an industry tailored competency testing and learning resource, known now as SN@P Assessment & Education. Kieran has professional and chartered status in business/project management and is responsible for the day to day co-ordination and delivery of the software service.

Tom is the Senior Web Developer for SN@P Assessment & Education. Tom created the web interface and leads all development requirements for the online platform. Tom designed and developed the software to significantly enhance online user experience & satisfaction, as well as instilling positive reputation in the technical stability of the software. Tom has a degree in Computer Science and has worked on various web development projects across both private and public sectors.

Systems Administrator & Content Creator

James joined the SNAP team in 2021, he works closely with our users to ensure their day-to-day experience across our platforms is as seamless and stress-free as possible. Beyond technical assistance, James plays a key role in content creation, designing engaging audio-visual materials for our Learner Journey Modules and step-by-step help guides. His focus on clarity and user experience helps learners easily navigate our tools, build confidence, and get the most out of their educational journey.

Dr Nigel Henderson

Academic & Clinical Advisor

Nigel has previously collaborated with the team at SN@P in his role as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester. Following his recent retirement in May, Nigel has now joined SN@P as an academic and clinical advisor. His role draws on experience as a registered nurse in general surgical, transplant, and renal nursing, as well as intensive care nursing covering adult general, cardiothoracic, and neurological specialisms in ITU. As a registered nurse teacher, he specialised in the teaching of undergraduate anatomy and physiology, applied biosciences, pathophysiology, and pharmacology. He also facilitated all nursing students in the development of numeracy skills and administered their assessments through an online platform. In his current role, he is supporting the SN@P team to further develop and enhance the theoretical components of their content and its application to clinical practice.
